GAlogo1 Goshow Architects Will Feature SurfaceAide TechnologyGoshow Architects, the New York based firm founded on the belief that architects have a social responsibility to design healthy and sustainable environments, is showcasing the Surface Antimicrobial System™ in its newly renovated Manhattan office.

Applied by spray to 2,000 square feet of high-touch surfaces in Goshow’s new facility, SurfaceAide® antimicrobial technology will continually inhibit the growth of bacteria for up to three years before another application is needed because it was applied by professional applicators. The non-toxic, non-leaching coating will be working continuously to minimize the presence of bacteria on the following surfaces in the firm’s new workspace: all bathroom surfaces, desks, conference room furniture, chairs, computers, phones, and door handles.

Although SurfaceAide is used heavily in educational, government, military, and sports facilities, Goshow is the first architectural company in the world to integrate the innovative antimicrobial coating into its own office space. Fully committed to sustainable design, Goshow Architects felt it was crucial that the new office represent the green design concepts and products they are incorporating into their design projects.

“Having both CSG technologies integrated into the design plan for Goshow’s newly renovated office space demonstrates how two very different surface treatments can be used together to create a comprehensive solution to issues such as human health, air pollution, and resource conservation,” said Craig Andrews, Coating Specialists Chief Executive Officer.

“Our new Manhattan space is already registered under the USGBC program for LEED commercial interiors,” said Nancy Goshow, Managing Partner. “We are planning on achieving a minimum LEED C.I. Silver certification for our office building design and construction. SAS should help us achieve that goal as well significantly reduce our maintenance costs.”

US Army logo U.S. Army Incorporates Proactive Solution to BacteriaCoating Specialists and the United States Army’s Fort Richardson in Alaska today announced the installation’s sports and fitness center will be treated with the SurfaceAide® XL. SurfaceAide XL gives Fort Richardson the ability to transform high volume touch points like aerobic mats and weight training equipment into surfaces that proactively fight the growth of harmful bacteria 24/7 for up to 90 days.

“Here at the Buckner Physical Fitness Center we believe that we serve the greatest customers in the world,” said Matt Livingston, Facilities Director. “We take immense pride in providing them with top notch facilities and equipment. Without CSG and their do-it-yourself antimicrobial kit, we would certainly fall short of that goal.”

One application of SurfaceAide XL will create an antimicrobial barrier on surfaces that continually fights the growth of bacteria, mold, fungi and algae for 90 days. It was applied to mats, cardio equipment, weights and locker room areas at the Fort Richardson fitness Center. Fort Richardson joins Fort Bliss in Texas and Fort Huachuca in Arizona in using SurfaceAide XL.

SurfaceClean®, a high-performance cleaner disinfectant that swiftly kills 99.9% of germs and bacteria, including illness-causing microorganisms such as H1N1 Flu Virus, Staphylococcus and its antibiotic resistant strain MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), was used on surface prior to the application of SurfaceAide XL. It’s invisible, odorless, safe, and dries quickly. SurfaceAide antimicrobial technology is EPA registered, non-toxic, and non-irritating to human skin.
