The Surface Antimicrobial System (SAS) is a comprehensive antimicrobial service developed by Coating Specialists that eliminates the presence of 99.9% of germs and bacteria and delivers continuous antimicrobial protection to surfaces for up to three years. Powered by the durable, high-performance antimicrobial product, SurfaceAide ® 1000, SAS has been used by some of America’s most prominent organizations to kill disease-causing microorganisms like H1N1Flu Virus and MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and inhibit the growth of microbial contaminants on surfaces ranging from dugouts at Yankee Stadium to training equipment at the U.S. Army’s Fort Bliss.

“In my office I see a lot of young, healthy people. I see kids, athletes and young adults. Some of these infections that we’ve been hearing more about recently, like MRSA and H1N1, that’s the population these infections go after. So I’m going to do everything in my power to be proactive and prevent the spread of infection—at least in my office.”

FAQQ: What does the applicator warranty on the Surface Antimicrobial System cover? A: The warranty covers the antimicrobial coating for any cracking, peeling or damage. Certified applicators will also visit your site one year after the initial application to examine the areas treated in the facility. |
Q: After my facility is treated with the Surface Antimicrobial System, does that mean I don’t have to clean my surfaces again? A: No. You should continue your normal cleaning protocols after the SAS application. Maintaining surfaces with a cleaner disinfectant will actually enhance the performance of the antimicrobial coating. Remember, SAS antimicrobial technology is an added level of protection that works 24/7 to inhibit microbial growth. Cleaners and disinfectants stop working once they are dry, but are still necessary to ensure the highest-level of surface hygiene.
Q: How do you prepare surfaces for the application of SurfaceAide ® 1000? A: Certified applicators go through a detailed training process that teaches them how to meticulously clean and disinfect any surface that is going to be treated with SurfaceAide ® 1000. This portion of the SAS process provides an initial kill of disease-causing microorganisms like H1N1 Flu Virus and MRSA and ensures that surfaces are free of dirt and debris.
Q: Do I have to do anything to prepare for a Surface Antimicrobial System application? A: No. All you have to do is tell us what areas you want treated and we will do the rest.
Q: What surfaces can the Surface Antimicrobial System be applied to? A: Any hard, non-porous surface or object. It can also be applied to carpeting and upholstered furniture.
Q: Will the application of the Surface Antimicrobial System disrupt operations in my facility? A: No. Certified applicators will work with you to make sure day-to-day business is not interrupted.

FAQQ: What happens if I treat a toy or desktop with SurfaceAide ® 1000 and a child licks it or puts it in his/her mouth? A: SurfaceAide ® 1000 creates a non-toxic coating on surfaces that will not harm anyone if licked or chewed on. |
Q: Will bleach or other harsh cleaning chemicals ruin the antimicrobial coating created by SurfaceAide ® 1000? A: No. While we recommend using the cleaner disinfectant SurfaceClean™ for normal maintenance cleaning, other cleaners or sanitizers will not affect SurfaceAide ® 1000’s antimicrobial barrier.
Q: You say that SurfaceAide ® 1000 creates an environmentally friendly, non-toxic antimicrobial barrier on surfaces. What does this really mean? A: The antimicrobial coating created by SurfaceAide ® 1000 is considered the world’s most environmentally friendly because it does need to leach off the surface to destroy the cell wall of microorganisms like bacteria or mold. Other antimicrobial products need to leach off the surface to work by poisoning cells with heavy metals like silver or copper. Each time leaching antimicrobials poison a cell, a little bit of that metal comes off the surface and enters the environment. This leaching/non-leaching comparison also explains why SurfaceAide ® 1000 lasts longer and performs better than other antimicrobial products.
