The University of Notre Dame and Coating Specialists, the nation’s leading provider of antimicrobial products and services, today announced the university’s Bengal Bouts recreational boxing program has treated its equipment with SurfaceAide™ 1000. “In the Office of Recreational Sports at the University of Notre Dame we have some unique programs including: boxing, tackle football, broomball and ice hockey,” said Notre Dame’s Assistant Director of Recreational Sports Jennifer Phillips. In order to manage the risk that equipment sharing presents,” Phillips remarked. “RecSports implemented the use of the Coating Specialists products in our boxing equipment which includes gloves, headgear and robes. We hope to expand the use of their products to other RecSports equipment such as helmets, pads and gloves. Performance Orthopedics, a state-of-the-art physical therapy center in Bingham Farms, Michigan and Coating Specialists today announced the installation of the Surface Antimicrobial System™ (SAS) will transform 4,000 square feet of high-touch areas throughout the facility into surfaces that work non-stop to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria for up to three years. Additionally, the comprehensive system is effective against H1N1 Flu Virus, MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), and many other illness-causing microbial contaminants.
