| The University of Notre Dame and Coating Specialists, the nation’s leading provider of antimicrobial products and services, today announced the university’s Bengal Bouts recreational boxing program has treated its equipment with SurfaceAide™ 1000. | “In the Office of Recreational Sports at the University of Notre Dame we have some unique programs including: boxing, tackle football, broomball and ice hockey,” said Notre Dame’s Assistant Director of Recreational Sports Jennifer Phillips. Known as “RecSports,” the office is housed within the Notre Dame Department of Athletics and provides a variety of programs, facilities and services to students, faculty, staff, their families and retirees. Its mission is to serve the Notre Dame community by enhancing the mind, body and spirit through recreational sports, with the safety of all users a primary consideration. It is RecSports’ goal to plan activities and conduct business in a manner that reduces the possibility of accidental injury. |
| “Each of these activities requires equipment which can be shared amongst participants. In order to manage the risk that equipment sharing presents,” Phillips remarked. “RecSports implemented the use of the Coating Specialists products in our boxing equipment which includes gloves, headgear and robes. We hope to expand the use of their products to other RecSports equipment such as helmets, pads and gloves. The Coating Specialists representatives have been very attentive to our needs with regular follow up and personal demonstrations of the products.” |
